Monica Brokenborough is an attorney in the firm’s labor and employment practice. She has extensive prior experience as a teacher union representative. While serving in the capacity of a union leader, Ms. Brokenborough won numerous grievances which resulted in backpay awards, job reinstatements, and expungement of adverse records. Additionally, she became a nominee for president of the Washington Teachers’ Union. During law school, she served as a member of the Moot Court Board and received the Litigation and Advocacy Award. She was also awarded the highly prestigious Peggy Browning Fellowship. Ms. Brokenborough received the CALI award for achievement for her work in the Thurgood Marshall Seminar instructed by Professor Larry S. Gibson. She is a native of Atlanta, GA, and the proud daughter of a former union steward.
