Covered injuries include neck and back strains, broken bones, herniated discs, carpal tunnel syndrome, hearing loss and psychological trauma.  There are no upfront legal costs in retaining a Workers’ Compensation Lawyer.  All attorney’s fees are paid from the disability benefits recovered from the insurance company, and the fees are regulated by the Workers’ Compensation Act.

An injured worker has 2 years from the date of their accident or onset of their occupational condition to file a claim with the Workers’ Compensation Commission.  If a claim is not filed within that time period, an injured worker gives up many benefits available to them through the workers’ compensation system, including: payment of lost wages, permanent disability benefits for the injury or condition, lifetime medical benefits, and assistance in with finding work if you are unable to return to your job due to your injury.

Union member hurt at work?  At KSC Law, we work closely with many of the unions that represent Maryland State employees, correctional officers, teachers, municipal employees, and food service workers.  You may have additional rights and benefits available to you, through your union contract.  We are familiar with those  contracts and make sure to counsel injured employees to exercise the rights available under those contracts.
